Information and support for families navigating pediatric neurological conditions
Your first appointment will typically last 60–90 minutes. The neurologist will take a detailed history, examine your child, and discuss initial impressions and a plan for any further investigations needed.
We encourage both parents to attend when possible. Children are welcome to bring a comfort item or favorite toy. Our waiting areas have age-appropriate play spaces.
A painless test that records electrical activity in the brain. Small sensors are placed on the scalp with paste. The test typically takes 30–60 minutes. Your child can watch a video or listen to music during recording.
A detailed scan of the brain using magnetic fields (no radiation). The machine is noisy, so earplugs or headphones are provided. Young children may need sedation. Results are typically discussed within one week.
Blood samples may be needed for metabolic screening, genetic analysis, or monitoring medication levels. We use topical anesthetic cream to minimize discomfort. Genetic results may take 4–12 weeks.
A series of age-appropriate tasks and puzzles that assess memory, attention, language, and problem-solving. Feels like playing games. Takes 2–4 hours over one or two sessions with breaks.
